The Right On Target™ Kit is your bridge between current research, your state and national
prekindergarten standards, and classroom implementation. Teachers can feel comfortable
knowing the kit will help provide an optimal learning experience to support school readiness.
This innovative kit is not just a box of materials! It is a customized and carefully designed path for
teachers to follow. Right On Target™ assists teachers to intentionally plan instruction that supports
school readiness. The easy-to-use Quick Reference Guide helps teachers plan for instruction
with intentionality through activities that have been teacher-tested for quality and to ensure the
important focus of fun and play with prekindergarten children. The game-like activities can be
used in different group settings and other parts of the daily schedule:
- Circle time
- Small groups
- Centers
- Transitions
The Right On Target™ kit supports the Head Start Act, “Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007”.
The activities are created by early childhood specialists and reflect early childhood
research soon to be released by the National Early Literacy
Panel. The playful, engaging, and easy to implement activities are hand-tested to ensure
quality and appropriateness. Extensions and suggestions for assessments are embedded into the activities. The teacher’s state
prekindergarten standards, Head Start Outcomes and NAEYC Standards are listed on each page
of the teacher’s Quick Reference Guide.
